Rationality

(Under Construction)

Rationality is, according to wikipedia (which I argue is a great source for surface-level, preliminary research) the is the manner in which people derive conclusions when considering things deliberately. It also refers to the conformity of one’s beliefs with one’s reasons for belief, or with one’s actions with one’s reasons for action.

Everyone cares about rationality, whether we know it or not. I struggled for a long time trying to think of a response to the statement, “I know you think rationality and logic are important, but I don’t.” The response is basically, “Yes, you do.” Rationality is the process by which we draw new beliefs from old ones, and this is foundational to everyone’s lives.
